Next Production:
The Gift of the Magi
And now for something entirely different!
In a break with the past, Thespis, Etc. will be taking a furlough from our traditional Thespis, Etc./UUCDC presentation of A Gilbert and Sullivan Christmas Carol. This year, we will be offering a musical version of O. Henry’s classic tale, The Gift of the Magi. Set around the turn of the twentieth century, it tells the story of Della and Jim, a poor young couple, who sacrifice their most valued possessions in order to provide Christmas gifts for one another and who discover the value of their love.
The show runs approximately one hour and will be presented on December 5, 6, and 7, 2008. All roles are open. It calls for a large cast of more than twenty, with a number of parts for adults and children. Stage direction will be by Bruce Warren, assisted by Bob Beavins. Rehearsals will be on Sunday afternoons at 2:00PM, starting on September 14.
Everyone is welcome, including folks who can help backstage, with refreshments, ushering, etc. If you’re interested in being part of this new production, please contact Bruce Warren at 610-558-2409. There are no formal auditions scheduled, but there may be calls at the discretion of the directors.
Please plan to make this new production a part of your holiday plans!
